Five Photographs and a Field of Light
This is an image-optimization test post. It contains five deliberately oversized photographs embedded straight from the camera, plus normal formatting, so we can confirm the system shrinks and optimizes every picture for the web instead of dropping huge files on the server.
A giant landscape
The image below started at 5184 by 3456 pixels. On the site it should be capped near 1800px on its longest edge.

A tall portrait
A phone-style portrait, taller than it is wide. Orientation should be preserved.

A transparent PNG
This one has a see-through corner. The system flattens transparency onto white when it optimizes, so the corner should turn white rather than break.

A wide banner
- Extreme aspect ratios should survive.
- The picture stays where it sits in the text.
- No need to resize anything by hand.

A big square
Optimize for the reader, not the file size. But also, optimize the file size.

End of test. Compare the size of this Word file against the total size of the five images on the finished post.
